Inverloch is an beautiful seaside town in Gippsland, Victoria, a leisurely two hour drive from Melbourne. It is a popular base for a day trip to pretty Wilson's Promontory or the penguins on Phillip Island. The town itself sits on the mouth of Anderson Inlet, its protected waters and sandy beaches ideal for swimming, fishing and water sports, while the nearby surf beach is a great spot to surf. Eugenie's is located directly opposite the Inlet beach, and fair a concise stroll to the restaurants, cafes and shops. The same number of buses leave from Melbourne (Southern Cross) to Inverloch each week. The Prom is the southern maximum tip of mainland Australia and offers spectacular scenery of huge granite mountains, begin forest, rain forest, sweeping beaches and coastlines. On the way terminate at Squeaky Beach and wander along the famous white sand. Each evening at sunset, the Small Penguins return to shore behind a day's fishing. A visit to some of our local wineries makes for a fine drive through the hinterland rolling hills rich dairy country nearby. The Screw Creek Nature Walk, a 75 tiny return walk from Eugenie's takes you past the jetty, along the Inlet foreshore, over the boardwalk, salt marsh and mangroves of Screw Creek and up to a lookout on Townsend Bluff with ravishing views over Anderson Inlet. Pass by remnants of the coal mining days and wetlands, open farmland with views of wind farm turbines and along the coast with its roaring surf, sandy beaches and views of Bass Strait Cross. Inverloch was the first deposit in Australia where dinosaur bones were found, and you can head to the Bunurong Environment center to see some on display. Offshore Surf School at 8 Ramsay Blvd is only scanty doors up from Eugenie's. They produce surfing lessons and have a range of equipment for hire including surfboards, stand up paddle boards, kayaks, snorkel packs bikes. Impartial out of Inverloch it has 9 holes a Cafe offering homemade country meals cakes. It's a different market with collectibles, retro, vintage and second hand items, plants books. Ownerchef Como cooked at one of Melbourne's favorite Japanese restaurants for numerous years and now has a loyal following of locals and visitors alike. They also stock a range of semi freddo based desserts including cakes, mini cones and cookie sandwiches.
